George is my favourite football player. He played for Eastern Suburbs, South Sydney and Manly Warringah and a few other teams along the way. He was also a fabulous all-round sportsman, cricket, golf, bowls, you name it he was good at it. When he retired from footy he coached local rugby league teams, Chelsea United, and Alexander Rovers. George also trained boxers. and was often seen on the Saturday morning boxing program on channel 9 in the late 50s or early 60s. In his other life he was a Fireman for over 30 years. He is 88 now and still loves to watch a good game of footy. What a man, my hero.

George.
Passed away recently ,not only was he a very fine footballer but an excellent coach . His coaching produced many young men that went on to play first grade.
Rugby League is what it is today because of men like George Kempshall.

Sadly George passed away in May. He was 90 years old. The world will miss him, he was a unique character and had a fantastic life.
