I remember being a six-year old kid and watching the City v Country game in 1981 at Bruce Stadium in Canberra. I remember a head-banded blond-haired Dave Howell (from the Wests Rosellas club in Newcastle), put on an awesome stiff-armed head-high tackle on a poor City player and then get his marching orders. He wasn't that tall so he had leap up to put on the hit. he was a good player from memory.
