Playing Career
Biography
Chunky five-eighth came to St George juniors from Inverell in 1973 after missing out on being graded by Newtown. Bailey was a member of the Dragons' Under 23's team which won the premiership in 1974 but his major claim to fame was that he was awarded a penalty try in the club's grand final replay win against Parramatta in 1977. Bailey later stepped in as coach of Wests following the sacking of Laurie Freier in 1988 but was replaced by Warren Ryan in 1991.
