I knew Jeff at teachers college in1973-4 we were an item for a while funnily enough I thought about him in 2009
And always wondered about him yesterday at work we were talking about attractive people and I instantly thought of Jeff so I looked him up to show my colleagues how cute he was I was so sad to read of his passing I'm still sad - but he certainly made a lasting impression on me
Rip cute boy you'll Always be 20years old in my mindxx

Jeff was an awesome brother, and footballer. I don't think he got the accolades he deserved. I'll never ever forget him.

As a young boy of 14 and mad balmain fan Jeff shield was a great player - was a regular and automatic selection in a pretty good team in a good era - certainly did the club and fans proud

Jeff was my PE teacher briefly at Condell Park HS near Bankstown Airport. It would have been around 1972 /73 so maybe he was doing practical exp whilst still a student teacher going by other comments.I class him as one of my early life mentors

I met Jeff through flying with Qantas International as Flight attendant's Jeff starting in 1992 and I in 1995 .After he had finished teaching
Over time we became great mates . He was very selective with his friendships but I felt honoured to eventually get a guernsey .
To know him well and talk footy especially hearing stories about Jeffs playing days with and against my childhood heroes especially top Roosters players household names and back to back Premiership players in 74-75 such as Fairfax n Beetson on the golf course was such an honour and I was always riveted and fascinated by him .
I still miss him as I know his family does and a better friend and mate you would not meet anywhere .Jeff so humble always R.I.P Jeff Fly high Champion up where you belong x
